Dear dmac,
Welcome to our site and community! Unfortunately, I am not aware of any groups in your area and ASK itself does not provide any. Perhaps there are some others in our readership who live in your area who are reading this and could contact you? Thanks for the question.

Hello. I am new to this forum. I hold very dear the teachings of Dr. Martin, especially the belief in universal salvation, that Christ cannot fail in saving mankind and the absolute sovereignty of God.
I would like to make a suggestion, because I too would enjoy fellowshipping with like-minded believers. I know of no groups or individuals on the Mississippi Gulf Coast area. If I could get in touch with like-minded believers, we could meet in someone's home, listen and share Dr. Martin's teachings, worship God the Father together and study the Bible together.
My suggestion is that one mission of this site be dedicated to putting believers in various areas together. You could do that by having people register, state the areas that they are in and give contact information. It seems to me that if you would diligently pursue putting like-minded believers together, that this would be a way of keeping the flame alive and teaching truth to younger people, etc. etc.
It is one thing for a site like this to exist, but until people in various areas are enabled to meet and join together, these truths will not be very fruitful.

Might I add to my previous post that if I can be of help in this area, please let me know. I do websites. My own is: gospelight.orgI am willing to create a site for registration of people who believe as Dr. Martin teaches, in the absolute sovereignty of God and universal salvation of man. I could create the site and you could link to it. How about it? Mary Cage (pegcage)

Dear Mary,
Thank you for your fabulous suggestion. I will implement your idea on our web site shortly.
Historically, the early Christians did meet in people's homes, which Dr. Martin has written about in his book Essentials of New Testament Doctrine and in some of his other writings. In the FBR days we all met at the community room of a local savings and loan building. Sometimes we would have a potluck lunch at someone's house. Later on, in the early ASK days, there were some groups that met in homes and Dr. Martin was frequently asked to speak at those meetings (which I also attended). Those really were fun times.
There is no reason why we can't do that today. In fact, in-home religious groups ar a growing trend right now. While there can also be some negative aspects to these types of meetings (which Dr. Martin wrote about during the FBR days in his booklet The Love Feasts), if handled correctly and done in the right spirit, they can be quite benficial.
Thank you again for your suggestion and I will get busy on this new idea ASAP.

From Doc Martin's article. Types of people God is calling
"Obviously the only type of Christian organization that can survive times of trouble is one that has individual members in it who are strong, who stand on their own two feet, that have independence but are not necessarily independent from one another. We need fellowship. We need to grow in grace and knowledge by cooperation one with another. We need to have assemblies. Getting together is essential for your Christian growth. We should not be so independent of one another that we do not support each other laterally, shoulder to shoulder. On the other hand it is wrong for one man or a group of men to begin to carry everybody. We all must get down and have our feet firmly on the ground spiritually, doctrinally."
"God is calling out those who are people of independence, not necessarily that they are independent of others where you become selfish and say, I can take care of myself. That type of attitude is not what God wants. But He does want us to have independence under Him."
