Greetings to everyone in 2009! As you may be aware, I have posted a new article on the ASSOCIATES ONLINE, entitled, Will You Be in the First Resurrection? ernestlmartin.com/kingdomofgod-firstresurrection.htmI am just wondering if this is something we think about on a regular basis, or whether it is just another theological concept that we have simply added to our library of biblical information? Is this something you are concerned about? Or is it something you maybe haven't given a lot of thought to lately? All replies are welcome! Ken N.

Ken- I enjoyed your recap of ELM's articles on the resurrection and the eklessia's reward in the first phase. Good overview!
Regarding participation in the military, serving in a non combatant role can be rewarding. I joined the Navy Hospital Corps in 1961 prior to Viet Nam and went through its basic school and then went through Surgical Technician training. It was very rewarding to both serve my country and care for those in military service who were sick and injured. After my 4 years, I attended Ambassador in Pasadena and volunteered at the college infirmary and then summer camp in Orr, Minnesota for two summers caring for campers and staff who were ill.
After graduation at AC I stayed on until 1974. After leaving AC, the medical training and the BA degree qualified me for training in the pharmaceutical industry. This enabled me to serve medical professionals in an educational capacity for 32 years. As in any profession there are wrong applications but as a Christian there are ways to function as a professional to help people and encourage a healthy life style without breaking laws of health and relying on drugs to bypass the consequences of breaking those laws.
Today at 66 years of age, except for the normal aging process, I have normal blood pressure and do not require any drugs to deal with any disease state at this time.
Regards...Jim Perkins

Hello Jim,
Thank you for your response and I'm glad you found the article beneficial. This is a subject we don't tend to talk a lot about, Maybe we all just take it for granted?
It sounds like you made good usage of your military training in helping the sick and wounded. My wife and I have tried to help returning vets deal with their PTSD problems with EFT, but we couldn't find anyone the least bit interested - even when we offered it for free!
I'm glad you are in good health and encourage others, too. It sounds like you've had a pretty full life! Take care.

G'day Jim! Sounds like you help a lot of people in a positive way. This is what we are told to do and we have the prime example of Christ where He was healing and doing His Father's works no matter what attempted to distract Him. On top of that He paid the ultimate price for us in full so that in the age to come there will be incredible mercy and grace poured out to heal and restore the world. Some experience that mercy now but many are being deceived to set up the antichrist so that the antichrist will con people into thinking that he is the real thing. That deception to trick people into thinking that he is the real Jesus is the offering of rewards for persons who bow and worship him as the Christ even though he is the angel of light. Funnily enough many churches today are doing that bowing instead of coming as children with boldness because of the incredible power of the complete works of Christ that set us free from the law of sin and the fear of death. Realizing this means that the desire to do things to please Him exceeds the desire to gratify self. Hence the desire to nurse and help others without thinking of self is great positive stuff.
